Are you having trouble deciding what you're going to do for the rest of your life and more specifically what you're going to do after you graduate from school?
Do you feel overextended and find yourself perpetually behind?
Do you simply want to take your life to the next level?
Competition to get into the 'best' jobs and schools has never been fiercer among students. Internal pressure and external expectations have forced us as students to deal with significantly more stress just to keep up with the pack. For example, have you ever had to begin a new week already worn out from last week's work and the consequences of your procrastination, knowing you'll have to sacrifice sleep or free time just to keep up with a heavy workload you're not passionate about?
Students emerging from adolescence into adulthood are given more freedom than they've ever had and are responsible for making many formative life decisions. Decisions made during this period of life set an individual on a path towards a life of success or a life of distress. If you take any 100 students and follow them for 40 years until they reach retirement age, you'll find the following, according to the Social Security Administration:
Wealthy
1%
Financially Secure
4%
Continue Working, not because they want to but because they have to
5%
Dead
36%
Dead Broke, dependent on their meager Social Security checks, relatives, friends, even charity for a minimum standard of living.
54%
The decisions we make now will determine our success and quality of life in the future! Are you willing to make the decisions that will make you part of the 1% instead of the 99%?
A New Philosophy Based on Proven Principles
There is no doubt that today's students and their parents are extremely focused on success: from getting high test scores and getting into the best college to creating the perfect resume and getting the right job.
But there's a problem with this method of success-seeking. It doesn't work for the majority of people! Many do not have the aptitude or interest for following this conventional path. Tragically, extremely talented students give up on themselves or find themselves in a life-long rat race trying to fit a ‘square’ into a ‘circle’ because they're never exposed to a better way. For them, excelling in school or a traditional job is like David arm-wrestling Goliath instead of using a sling shot.
Fortunately, there's a universal solution that has been proven to work over and over. That solution is the entrepreneurial mindset. From A-students to D-students. From 60 year olds to 16 year olds. The entrepreneurial mindset has helped individuals create amazing lives that are remembered far past their death.
The central premise of Extreme Entrepreneurship is that the same entrepreneurial strategies that are proven in the business world to create wealth can help ALL students create lives of passion, purpose, and prosperity when applied to their life. We believe that everyone has unique strengths and talents that can bring them success if applied in an entrepreneurial way.

Gerald Hills, Founder, Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization
My name is Michael Simmons and I'm a recent graduat of the Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU). When I was sixteen years old a friend and I started a web development company. Two years later we were named the #1 youth-run web development company by YoungBiz Magazine, despite the fact that we had no formal business or web development education and no prior contacts while going to school full-time, playing sports, and having a social life. More importantly I found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, gained valuable experience that differentiated me from my peers, and learned powerful, practical knowledge that has transformed my life and complemented the academic knowledge I learn in school.
While at NYU, I've spent over 1,000 hours of my time attending seminars and conferences related to success and I've read over 100 books on self-development and business. From these experiences I've learned and grown more than I could've imagined as a sixteen year old. In fact, most of the things I am known for now (i.e., writing and speaking) were either a weakness or were something I was too afraid to do when I was sixteen. Are you committed to taking your life to the next level? Are you open to new ways of achieving success and personal growth beyond academics, conventional extracurricular activities, and conventional career paths?
You may be wondering, "Why should I read a book written by a student my own age?" As I began writing this book, I worried that my readers would ask this exact question. Over the past few years, I've made more mistakes than I can count and I'm sure I have many more coming. However, as I thought more and talked to more people, I realized that I was the best person to write this book for two main reasons:
During the past five years I've had very unique experiences and acquired extremely valuable principles that can be used to dramatically improve the life of any student. My experiences have improved my life in many, many ways.
One prominent example is conquering my fear of public speaking. When I was sixteen years old, I remember being afraid to read a one minute speech off of a note card to a class where I knew everybody. I was practicing the speech for days in advance, I could barely sleep the night before, and I still made many mistakes while my whole body was shaking and my voice was cracking. Now, I regularly speak to student audiences, sometimes numbering in the hundreds.
In addition, at nearly every 'adult' conference and seminar I've been too, attendees have come up to me saying they wish they had been exposed to the principles when they were young. Well, now is YOUR chance. The Student Success Manifesto boils down all my hard work and time into a concise, but detailed book on how to achieve success on your own terms.
I am the same age as my audience and I'm dealing with the same issues and problems. I believe I can deliver the very important messages that the book has to offer in an interesting way that relates to my audience better than a similar book that written by an adult could.
