Big News
On Friday, I had one of the best business meetings I've ever had with the managing editor of Inc. Magazine. I don't want to go into detail for fear of jinxing things.
However, I will say that we have a full-page ad coming up. It is due on Monday and it being designed by our friend and fellow young entrepreneur, Daniel Blank. What are your thoughts on the two preliminary designs (FYI - the comment feature on this blog is working again):

I like the one that says immerse yourself, it just seems catchier. Also, Michael, I would love to visit with you about your current tour. Jim Cooke, 432-689-3935
Simply, love it!!!
Let me know if i can be of any help...
Blessings,
Amir
Michael,
Great work! One note: on the design with multiple "entrepreneurs" I believe it would be good to have a woman. I like to encourage the image of both genders being the future entrepreneurs. Thank you for all you do as an "ambassador of goodwill" for NFTE! Best of luck!!
Lisa
the second one: "the next generation". congrats!
Congrats Michael! I vote for the second one, it makes me feel like I would have a chance at making a difference by attending. We all love making a difference!
Congrats!
I like the "immerse" ad. It provides much more emotional impact and action. Immerse includes the reader personally. Whereas generation is more a big picture ephemeral. Youth don't generally speak or think in terms of "generations."
You have an incredible message... grab them by the gut!
Perhaps combine the two (unless it looks cluttered) to include IMMERSE yourself in entrepreneurship, and then in smaller font something to the effect of "the next generation of business builders."
Congratulations Sheena & Michael - this is so awesome!!!!
I like the first one - I think that 'the next generation' has been used to often. Immerse Yourself is catchy and it says so much about what you are both doing.
I also agree with Lisa's comment on including a woman in the ad.
My vote would be for the second ad. Think about what the message is you want to send to the readers, and secondly, keep in mind who the readers are. First off, if they read Inc. they're probably business execs for the most part, and "Immerse Yourself" is too vague. The Next Generation tells them exactly what and who the tour is about. What is the one message you want them to come away with "Immerse Yourself" or "The Next Generation." Plus, business execs are much more apt to want to be involved with things with the next generation and younger people.
Awesome!! Congratulations, Michael and Sheena!
You seem to be split down the middle on opinion - I really don't think you can go wrong with an ad in Inc.! Both designs are great; I lean toward "immerse" - it's actionable and evocative.
Let's talk soon about the Extreme Tour + FLOW campus tour. This is such an obvious synergy, it's too good to pass up.

guys,
others may have already said this but... both ads look good. don't know if this is possible. but I would want to know when you're going to be stopping in certain areas so I can immediately mark it on my calendar.
first ad feels like a class in how to "start-up" a business. the second is more impactful. The point this ad is probably to build curiosity. Don't worry about being super explicit... it just needs to build curiosity.
Perhaps give people a reason to go to your website and sign up early.... like a discounted rate or something. Maybe highlight a way they can get involved... like a bplan competition or idea summary competition... so that they have more of a stake in it.
the ads are clean and easy to read. I like them a lot. remember that the phrase "collegiate entreprenuer tour" is super important in the ad. love the silohettes... don't like that they are old dudes. weak visual, but good balance... cause the words are more important than the image.
Just hope no one gets http://www.extremetour.org confused with http://www.extremetour.com. I'm feeling the second ad a bit more... but would recommend moving the "of" to the right a bit so it is not overlapping the g.
I like the "immerse yourself" catch phrase. It gives entrepreneurship a twist. Congratulations Michael as you continue to do great things. I like to draw... email if you ever need ideas.
I prefer the "immerse yourself" version. Much more appealing in my opinion
