Marketing the Student Success Manifesto
I've spent the last 12 hours planning the marketing campaign for The Student Success Manifesto (SSM). So far I've done so-so in terms of marketing. 60 people have downloaded free previews, 15 people have bought the book, and a little over 300 people are subscribed to the newsletter. Some milestones are:
- July - Print paperback book using Lightning Source POD (me).
- July - Finish the workbook (Sheena; biz partner/girl friend).
- August - Complete planning system (me).
- Summer - Publicize, learn, and improve ebook features (me).
- Summer - Sell memberships to entrepreneurship clubs and teachers (Andrew Swan; Marekting/Membership Director)
- Fall - Tour schools in NYC (Sheena and I).
- Spring and on - Tour schools nationallly (Sheena and I).
- Spring and on - Start (e)publishing other works by young adults for young adults on topics related to Extreme Entrepreneurship.
As I learn more about the publishing industry, I'm still change my mind everyday on whether I want to get a publishing contract with a big publisher after I have a lot of sales or keep on self-publishing. Luckily, I don't have to make the decision now and I can just focus on marketing the book.
I invite your honest comments on anything that comes to mind or the following...
- What are your thoughts on the book's concept?
- What major hook do you think I could use to sell the book to high school and college students?
- What are your thoughts on the sub-title of the SSM?
- What are your thoughts on the web site?
